Vanderbilt University
Vanderbilt has many trees around its campus. The university has made an effort to identify them for both study and casual observation. According to their website, their campus contained 5,625 trees and shrubs that they have identified, among them are two unique trees: the Bicentennial Oak, and the state-champion Japanese Zelkova.
I had no idea that the university was an arboretum. It randomly came up in conversation that I was having with a student while I was at work. But, as the above linked site states, they've been considered an arboretum since 1879. Who knew?
The coordinates I have listed above are for the Peabody Campus part of Vanderbilt University. In my opinion, it is prettier than the main part of campus, especially this time of year.
