Henri Laurens (1885-1954), was originally a stonemason. He began sculpting in 1899...and after meeting Pablo Picasso and other cubist artists, he adopted that style himself in 1911.
His gravesite at Montparnasse Cemetery features one of his own works- La Douleur (Grief).
