This lion is on the right side of an attractive fountain in the Gardens of the Versailles Palace.

This 1687 bronze sculpture is entitled "Lion Terrassant un Loup" or in English "Lion Killing a Wolf". The lion faces the main part of the fountain while the wolf is under him and still struggling apparently and has a spout coming out of its mouth. On the other side of the fountain is a sculpture of a lion killing a wild boar.
The artists are Cornielle Van Cleve and Balthasar Keller.
