CZ: Na míste zámku nejprve stála gotická tvrz, která byla do roku 1574 prebudována do podoby renesancního zámku. V roce 1643 byl puvodní zámek vypálen Švédy. Velký rane barokní zámek s prvky manýrismu byl vybudovaný Rottaly pravdepodobne v letech 1650-74 s využitím zdiva puvodní tvrze a zámku. Stavbu projektoval vídenský architekt Filibert Luchese. Zámek je rozmerná ctyrkrídlá dvoupatrová budova s mansardovou strechou, obdélným nádvorím a s trípatrovými šestibokými nárožními vežemi. Celou stavbu obklopuje vyzdený príkop. Do nádvorí se na všech ctyrech stranách otevírají prízemní arkády. V severovýchodním zahradním krídle je v prízemí sala terrena s bohatou štukovou a malírskou výzdobou na motivy Ovidiových promen a antické mytologie. V interiéru je rada sálu a pokoju se štukovou a malírskou výzdobou. Soucasne se zámkem byla na severovýchodní strane založena okrasná zahrada s alejemi a oranžerií zakoncená oborou. Zámecké interiéry byly upraveny v 18. století, kdy ve velkém sále vzniklo divadlo a byla zrízena zámecká kaple. K posledním dílcím stavebním zásahum ve stylu pozdního klasicismu došlo v polovine 19. století. V roce 1948 byl zámek zestátnen. V roce 1992 se v restituci vrátil potomkum puvodních majitelu. Po letech chátrání byl zámek nedávno odkoupen mestem a byla zahájena jeho rekonstrukce pro kulturní úcely mesta. Nekteré z místností zámku jsou už pro verejnost otevreny.

EN: First there was a gothic fortress at the place, where the Holešov castle stands now, but then it was rebuilt into renaissance castle (in 1574) and in 1643 it was burnt out by the Swedish. The masonry of the fortress and renaissance castle was utilized to build up the great early baroque castle. Filibert Luchese from Vienna made the project of the building for the Rottal dynasty and the castle was built probably during the years 1650-74. The castle is a large four-winged and two-storey building with attic roof and three-storey corner towers. The whole building is encircled by the stone fosse. Inside the castle there are many halls and rooms decorated by stucco and paintings. Together with the castle also beautiful castle garden with alleys, orangery, water canal and sculptures was established. The interiors of the castle were arranged in the 18. century – the theatre was founded in the Great Hall and the castle chapel was set up. Latest partial classicist building impacts came in the 19. century. In the 1948 the castle was put under state control and in 1992 it was returned to the descendants of the original owners. After many years of dilapidating the castle was recently bought by the Holešov municipality and nowadays is being reconstructed. Some rooms and halls have already been opened to the public.
