PT / Em 10 de Agosto de 1385, dia do mártir S. Lourenço, as hostes de D.João I juntaram-se, neste local, às do Condestável D. Nuno Álvares Pereira, rumo a Aljubarrota.
A capela e o padrão assinalam o encontro e, o santo, orago da ermida, deu o nome ao lugar.
Aires de Quental, encarregado de ali construir uma fábrica de armas, por D. Manuel I, foi também o edificador da capela. Da fábrica, apenas resta o açude localizado a jusante.
A Capela de S. Lourenço, de feição manuelina, foi erguida em meados do séc. XVI por Aires de Quental, Feitor-Mor de D. Manuel I.
A capela é um pequeno templo de planta rectangular antecedido por um alpendre e galilé.
O interior é coberto por tecto de madeira e possui um altar decorado com um conjunto de azulejos hispano-árabes.
Numa das fachadas laterais foi colocado em 1948 um painel de azulejos evocativo da presença das tropas do Condestável em Tomar.
A capela foi classificada pelo Instituto Português do Património Arquitectónico (IPPAR) em 1921 como Monumento Nacional.

This was the spot where, on 10th August 1385, the day of the Saint Lourenço martyr, the troops of D. João 1 joined those of Constable D. Nuno Álvares Pereira on their way to Aljubarrota.
The chapel and the monument mark the meeting place and the patron saint of the chapel gave his name to the place.
Aires de Quental, whom D. Manuel 1 had given the task of building a weapons factory there, also built the chapel.
The weir downstream is all that remains of the factory.
Saint Lourenço Chapel was built by Aires de Quental, in manueline style, in the mid-16th century.
The chapel was classified as National Monument in 1921 by the Portuguese Institute of the Architectonic Heritage (IPPAR).
