Located in Corson County, South Dakota on US Highway 12, Corson is the largest city on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
It has a population of 663 as of the 2010 census and was named after James McLaughlin, a US Indian Service Agent, who is buried here.
German, Russian, Irish, French, and Norwegian immigrants settled in the area and the town was incorporated in 1908.
