Tour T1 (also known as tower GDF Suez) is an office skyscraper in La Défense, the high-rise business district west of Paris, France.
The tower was completed and opened in 2008. The tower, 185 m (607 ft) tall, is the second-tallest skyscraper in La Défense after the Tour Total.
The construction started in 2005 and was finished in2008. The building has 185 meters, making it the 4th highest building in France, after the tour First (231m) Montparnasse (210m) and Total (190m).
The building was designed by the Architect office Valode et Pistre, and has the shape of a sheet folded in half, resembling a billowing sail in the wind. The south facade of the tower is strictly vertical (to La Defense), while the north facade Courbevoie gradually descends towards ensuring a transition to the lower town.
Built by Lucia and owned SITQ, it resulted in the largest financing of the year 2008.
It is fully leased by GDF SUEZ, which moved into the tower in 2010.
The tower was climbed with bare hands by the climber Alain Robert (French Spiderman) in April 7, 2010.
