This is one of a series of murals around the Lancashire fishing village of Poulton le Sands around which the town of Morecambe has grown. They reflect the history and culture of Poulton.

This scene is taken from a victorian postcard and has been somewhat romanticised. Cockle picking in Morecambe Bay can be very dangerous.

The tide here comes in faster than you can run and on top of that there are patches of quicksand.

Stationed at the lifeboat house, there is a life-hovercraft, one of just four around the UK.

Like all of the murals in this series, it is made using a coloured render rather than paint. This should ensure that it lasts a long time.
