[DE] Der Bergbau auf dem Lüderich hat eine lange Geschichte. Schon die Römer haben hier Blei- und Silbererze gefördert, auch im Mittelalter wurde Bergbau betrieben. In moderner Zeit erstreckte sich der Bergbau quasi über den gesamten Lüderich, wo aus verschiedenen Gruben und Lagerstätten hauptsächlich Zink-, Blei-, Kupfer- und Eisenerze gefördert wurden. Am 27. Oktober 1978 wurde auf dem Lüderich die letzte Schicht gefahren, kurz darauf wurden auch die Aufbereitungsstätten geschlossen. Auch wenn auf dem ganzen Lüderich noch Spuren des Bergbaus zu finden sind, sind alle Schächte sind mittlerweile verfüllt.
Die Koordinaten verweisen auf den noch erhaltenen Förderturm des Hauptschachts, in dessen unmittelbarer Nähe sich heute ein Golfclub befindet. Interessant ist auch der an anderer Stelle (50° 55.298'N, 7° 12.854'E) erhaltene Förderturm des Franziskaschachtes.
[EN] Mining at the Lüderich has a long history. Already the Romans dug for lead and silver here, and there were also mines here during the Middle Ages. In modern times, practically the entire Lüderich hill was used vor mining with various pits and ore fields, mainly digging out zinc, lead, copper and iron ore. At Octobre 27th of 1978, the mines at the Lüderich were closed down, shortly after that also the surrounding ore benefication facilities. Today, traces from about 2000 years of mining history can be found throughout the Lüderich, but all pits have been filled.
The coordinates point the shaft tower of the main pit. Today, the surrounding area is used by a golf club. Interesting is also the shaft tower of the Franziska Schacht (50° 55.298'N, 7° 12.854'E).
