Near Buinen was a Polish division of the allied armies liberated. In Buinen lost one of those Polish soldiers killed in combat.
The monument to the Exloërweg in Buinen (municipality of Borger-Odoorn) is a memorial of gray stone, surrounded by a fence.
The text on the stone reads:
HERE HAS DIED
ON 12 APRIL 1945
THE LIBERATION OF BUINEN
SWIETE J. PAMIECI
BIELENIEC
STANISLAW POLEN
10 P DRAGONOW
POLISH FORCES.
Shortly after the liberation of the people Buinen collected money to a memorial for the Polish soldier to be established.
Het monument aan de Exloërweg in Buinen (gemeente Borger-Odoorn) is opgericht ter nagedachtenis aan de Poolse soldaat Stanislaw Bieleniec die hier op 12 april 1945 is gesneuveld.
De omgeving van Buinen werd door een Poolse divisie van het geallieerde leger bevrijd. In Buinen verloor één van deze Poolse soldaten het leven bij gevechten.
Het monument aan de Exloërweg in Buinen (gemeente Borger-Odoorn) is een gedenksteen van grijze natuursteen, omgeven door een hekwerk.
De tekst op de steen luidt:
'HIER IS GEVALLEN
OP 12 APRIL 1945
BIJ DE BEVRIJDING VAN BUINEN
SWIETE J. PAMIECI
BIELENIEC
STANISLAW POLEN
10 P DRAGONOW
POLISH FORCES.'
Kort na de bevrijding zamelde de bevolking van Buinen geld in om een gedenkteken voor de Poolse soldaat op te richten.
