The Old Bakery Building has been there, done that! This survivor has not only baked bread, but served as the headquarters for the Austin bicentennial committee, a full century after this building was build and dated.
The date is at the very top of the roof. It is on a block of limestone with an eagle holding a benner in its mouth. The block on which the eagle has landed is engraved with the date of 1876.
