For some bizarre reason the penultimate scene of this film was shot in Turville, rather than Kettlewell, which was used for the rest of the film.

Calendar Girls is based on the true life story of the Rylstone WI, who posed for a risqué calendar to raise funds for their local hospital. The calendar started life as a way to raise a small amount of funds, but became incredibly successful. The ladies' fame spread around the globe and tested their family lives to the limit.

Most of the film was shot in North Yorkshire, in particular Kettlewell. Towards the end of the film there is a scene where the two main characters discuss the events that have happened to them over the previous months since they launched the calendar. This scene, the penultimate of the film, is shot in Turville. In Kettlewell all the buildings are stone, whilst in Turville the buildings are red brick and flint. The scene jars somewhat. Presumably the film company needed the extra scene and didn’t want the expense of taking a film crew back to Kettlewell.
