Pacold Lime Kiln is a very interesting technical landmark located in the city of Prague 16, Velká Chuchle, right on the road between Velká Chuchle and Slivenec. Lime Kiln comes in second 19th century. It was built according to the patent technology of professor Jirí Pacold.
Prof. jirí Pacold (April 24, 1834 - February 18, 1907) (
visit link) was a Czech civil engineering professor and rector of Prague College in the period 1888-1889.
His patent allowed processing of lime and limestone containing unsorted. Lime plant was in operation until the Second World War. Then it was only occasionally used by filmmakers and gradually fell into disrepair.
Currently the limekiln is under reconstruction.
