St. Paul's Episcopal Church was founded in 1816, the fifth Episcopal Church founded in Rhode Island and the first following the American Revolution. The parish originally had a church built on Church Street which was consecrated October 15, 1817. The present church on Park Place was built beginning in 1901. The current stone church was designed in a Gothic Revival style. The parish house was added in 1914 just behind the church. The building is in very good condition and continues to serve its congregation.
The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
