The "Pieta" sculpture is an abstract sculpture located in the Roofless Church in New Harmony, IN. The sculpture is of a single figure with a second head protruding from its chest.
The classic sculptures of the Pieta are of the dead body of Jesus in the arms of Mary. But in this abstract model, I see it as new life springing from the heart of the man, who appears to be lifeless.
