The M60 main battle tank was released as replacement for the M48 tank. The M60 model initially released in December 1960 and had many modifications released over the years. The M60A3 was an upgraded version released with laser rangefinder and upgraded firing system in 1978. The M60's were replaced by the M1 Abrams beginning in 1980 however continued to be manufactured until 1984.
