The first of two covered bridges in Verdek is at the exit from the village close to the local stone-sculpture workshop. It is a forgotten bridge because it lost it´s mission when the way which led across the
bridge was cancelled.
The bridge construction is hinge later supplemented by struts. The length is 20 meters and 3 meters wide and height of the ridge above the deck is 5 meters. Elbe water level below the bottom edge of the deck varies between 2 to 3 meters.
After the reconstruction the entrance for traffic on the bridge was restricted. The bridge was probably built in the 18th century. Formwork and roof served as protection the bridge substructure, but also provided shelter for farmer´s carriages.
