The 58th Annual Farmers National Bank Autumn Leaf Fetival(tm) promises to be "An Autumn to Remember". The 2011 festival runs from Saturday, October 1st - Sunday, October 9th. Held in conjunction with Clarion University's Homecoming weekend and football game, the festival showcases Clarion as a picturesque, safe and friendly university community that boasts a busy downtown with unique shops and great food.
2011 promises a variety of events, both old and new, to entertain everyone in the crowd. Browse through crafts, motor into town, journey through the antique tractors and meander among the motorcycles. Tap your toes at the fiddlers' competition or simply have a small town good time watching one of the largest parades in Pennsylvania. Listen to live music, eat from the 20 food vendors and enjoy the carnival rides.
Make sure to attend two new events for 2011 that will help kick off the festivities on Saturday, October 1st. The Suzan Hahnfeldt, State Farm Insurance "Pennsylvania State Old Time Fiddlers Championship" is new to us but not to the area. The winners in each division go on to Nationals so you know you'll hear some top notch talent. Kids of all ages will love the Veolia Environmental Services Touch a Truck, where they can put their imaginations into high gear and get behind the wheel of big rigs, cars, tractors, construction vehicles and more.
Carrier Insurance Agency & Erie Insurance have sponsored a DUI Simulator that will be featured on four days during major events. This interactive experience allows you to witness the effects of alcohol in a safe environment.
From an automotive light and sound competition, to a scholarship teen pageant, to a NASCAR simulator, to cultural performances such as steel drum bands, blues music, or a jazz octet or any of the other numerous events held during this 9-day celebration, there is something for everyone at the Autumn Leaf Festival(tm).
