In the Fall of 1992 this Sugar Pine (Pinus lambertiana) was
cut at the Dinkney Creek Campground in the Sierra National
Forest. When stressed by several years of drought, the tree
died after it became infected by the disease "Blister Rust."
After the tree was cut, its wood was salvaged and produced
35,000 board feet of lunber.
