Haunted places to go has the following:
"Five of the cemeteries in the area, if drawn out on a map, strangely transform into a point of a pentagram. The pentagram typically represents a magical type of protection for those that are in the occult, but also can be used in the commissions of curses. In Hanning Cemetery, there is a reported spirit of a male in a long robe that appears to cause screams and other eerie sounds to occur."
Ohio Exploration adds this:
"Haning Cemetery - Part of the group of "pentagram" cemeteries, Haning Cemetery is said to be haunted by the ghost of Ohio University student David Tischman."
Prairie Ghosts has even more information:
"Haning Cemetery is another reportedly haunted spot. The ghost who has been seen here is an old man who wears a long robe. He is usually accompanied by the disembodied sounds of screams that echo into the night. There have been a couple of locally famous seances conducted at the burial ground, including one in 1969, when the heavily padlocked gate of the cemetery unlocked and opened on its own during the proceedings. During another seance in 1970, the spirit of David Tischman, a deceased Ohio University student was supposedly contacted by a group of his friends."
This Waymarker has several ancestors buried in this cemetery, and has visited it a number of times. Never has there been even so much as an attempted contact during this visits, but maybe it was because they were scared of the several spirits noted above that reportedly haunt this cemetery.
