A simple memorial with flag-pole at the entrance to the Memorial Park in the centre of this market town.

This simple cuboid-shaped memorial is se on a two-step base, the lower a circular one, and the upper one a square. On top of the memorial is a tall flagpole. There are inscriptions on all four sides, the dedication inscription is on the south side and is engraved into the stone. It reads:
IN PROUD AND
EVER LOVING
MEMORY OF
THE MEN OF THIS
TOWN WHO FELL IN
THE WORLD WAR
1939 -- 1945
The names of the fallen are cast into brass plates fixed to the other three sides. The Memorial to C.Clark, Korean War, is fixed below the WWII plaque on the north side. Reading from east to west the names are:
