The State Park welcome building, albeit small, contains Civil War artifacts and other educational curiosities, interpretives and display cases chock full of items of local historical value.

The monument museum features historical artifacts related to the history of Washington Monument and the Battle of South Mountain. It is open on weekends only in April and October, and seven days a week from May through September. It is closed during the winter. They were very friendly and allowed picture taking as well as walked around with me and gave me a tour, explaining what i was seeing. I also signed into the register book and collected another state park stamp.
