Originally part of the Methodist Church of Canada. In 1905, 1955 and 1960 expansions were added to the building. In 1925 the church became Grace United Church (when the Methodist Church merged with other denominations to form the United Church of Canada).
It's also known for its accessibility by having an elevator and systems for those with hearing problems.
