[Eng]Homem Sol (Sun-Men) is a work of monumental dimensions. Is crowned with a solar crown that projects thorns in multiple directions. It´s sustained by a body in obelisk shape from where six arms stretch. The configuration resembles the bodies of fish. The whole is sustained by a tripod ressembling bent legs.
It´s a work from Jorge Vieira (b. Lisbon 1922 / d. Evora 1998) for Expo98
[PT]Obra de dimensões monumentalistas, “Homem-Sol” é coroada por uma custódia solar que projecta espinhos em múltiplas direcções. Ampara-a um corpo em obelisco do qual partem seis braços distendidos, cuja configuração se assemelha a corpos de peixes. O conjunto sustenta-se num tripé composto por pernas algo flectidas, com uma secção em cruz também presente.
É um trabalho de Jorge Vieira (Lisboa 1922 / Evora 1998) realizado para a Expo.
