Arizona Pioneers' Home Cemetery started being used in 1911, before Arizona became a state. It contains approximately 1300 graves. It includes the Simmons Cemetery from the late 1800s at the top of the hill. Among the colorful characters buried here is Big Nose Kate, the girlfriend and common law wife of fabled gunfighter and old Wild West icon, Doc Holliday.
