The Mrs calls these trees "Oink Trees" for eating things that dare to be too close to them for a long time. We found this example along a short stretch of old farm land in West Jordan Utah. This particular tree is the center tree of a stand of about ten. Several of them have grown over the original wire fence.
Our photos show top wire of the old fence buried about five inches in the side of the tree. The fence enters one side of the tree, and exits the other.
