Ratchaburi is a small city, capital of the province of the same name, located to the west of Bangkok. Essentially, a satellite town of the great metropolis. To the north of the town centre is this small bridge, just off the main road. Nothing particularly exciting. As far as I am able to decipher, from the curvaceous Thai script, it is simply the 'Canal Bridge'—apt and functional, as it stretches across a small canal, which runs parallel to the main road. Crossing the bridge leads to a college and a city park.
The foundation date given on the date stone is 2539 of the Buddhist era, which translates into 1996 of the Common Era. The bottom line of text is the date. The ~"WA" text is the Buddhist Era, the four final characters are the date. There is no parking in the immediate vicinity, however, 50m in either direction there is street side parking. Not a busy stretch of road.
Date built or dedicated as indicated on the date stone or plaque.: 2539/1996
Road, body of water, land feature, etc. that the bridge spans.: Local canal.
