Located near the small town of Foz do Arelho, Óbidos Lagoon is a natural wetland, separated from the sea by dunes.
it has about 5 km and a variable width not exceeding 1 km. It is perhaps the best place to look for when birdwatching along the coast between the mouth of the Mondego and the Tagus estuary.
Noteworthy that in the winter here occur important concentrations of ducks, waders and gulls.
Also, some rarities have been observed.
This observatory is located near the mouth of Rio Real facing the lagoon.
