The Boer War memorial in Bathurst, stands in the Town Square park adjacent to William Street.
It was unveiled by Lord Kitchener in January 1910.
The plaque reads:
TO THE HONOUR OF THE BATHURST MEN WHO SERVED IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAR
1899 1902
Names have been added to the original list on the memorial, it appears, on three occasions.
Three names were added to the bottom strip of the boarder, amongst these are Lieutenant Peter Handcock, who was executed alongside Harry "Breaker" Morant in 1902.
