The Hartford & New Haven Railroad Depot was built 1869-1870. The brick passenger depot was built in a Second Empire style. With the building of depot in Windsor people began moving from Hartford to Windsor and commuting to Hartford spurring the residential growth in Windsor in the 1870s and 1880. After the use of the depot by the railroad ceased the depot remained vacant and deteriorating for several years. In the late 1980s the depot was restored and now serves as an AMTRAK station.
