Chapman, Taylor Housewas built in 1764. The 2½ story masonry dwelling has a pitch roof and originally had double chimneys at each end however now each end has only one. The Georgian style house bwas built by Taylor Chapman. In 1824, his granson Edwin Chapman lived in the home. The house is located across the road from the old Bissell Ferry Road. The ferry operated from 1641 until 1917. The house is in good condition and continues to serve as a single family home. - information from National Register Nomination
