Max Poliner Dry Good Store
In 1892 Le Grande Young deeded all of Block 98 to William T. Vincent. This building was prob ably built prior to 1910 when the property was owned by William's wife Amorillis. In 1911 and for several years thereafter, it was used as a restaurant.
In 1922, Max Poliner purchased the property and began a dry goods business. The following year he purchased the property to the east from Amorillis Vincent and built the attached bungalow. A successful dry goods business operated here for nearly fifty years.
The fram of the original store front has remained intact. Note the intricate cornice.
