World War I had a very great impact in Belgium. Each town has lost a lot of sons during the ‘Great War’. Therefore almost everywhere you can find these memorials, expanded after 1945 with the killed soldiers, civilians and members of the resistance movement at the Second World War. Every year at August, 15 (end of WW II) and November, 11 (end of WW I) the victims are honored.
Nearby, at the wall of the church there was also a marble plaque honoring the Wold War I victimes.
