His principal significant role was as vice president of John Scowcroft and Sons, a major wholesale dry goods company in the intermountain west. As one of few remaining Scowcroft family residences, the house and carriage house are very good local examples of the Neoclassical style and of the work of Moroni Charles Woods, a prominent local architect.
