When I was a nipper this place was called Morden Baths or Morden Swimming pool. When they added Park and dropped Swimming I am not sure.
Located in Morden Park right next to what used to be called Merton Technical College. I’m told that these days it is the Merton Campus of South Thames College.
The pool building looks a little jaded these days and what was the cafeteria is now a gym or rather a Wellness health and fitness centre.

When we were at school and had swimming for “games” we were always disappointed when Cheam Baths were open as that meant we had to use that facility, being in the same borough as our school. When it was closed we used the “modern” Morden Baths instead.
The pool has diving facilities and childrens/teaching pools to compliment the large 33m main pool. I must admit to using the high diving boards but only when the girls were watching. Secretly it scared the life out of me!
