This is a peaceful park along the bank of the Suncook river, perfect for a picnic. There are picnic tables and grills, but no other facilities here. It was established in 2005 by the Rotary Club as a centennial project.

This park is dedicated to the memor of Kurt Bleckmann, one of the early settlers and industrialists of the area, who passed away in November of 2004 at the age of 94.


From the town web site: Pittsfield Community Centennial Park

Located on Barnstead Road about a mile from the center of Pittsfield NH, Centennial park located on the Suncook River and developed by the Pittsfield Rotary. Centennial Park was dedicated on November 20, 2005. The park provides a view of the beautiful Suncook River and has four picnic tables and grills for use by the general public.

This site was originally the site of White's Dam and a mill, the first dam having been built by Josiah White in the late 1700's. The dam shown in the photos below were constructed by the Exeter Manufacturing Company in 1934 and were severely damaged in the horrific flood of May 1936. What remained of the dam collapsed and was washed downstream in 1953 in the spring floods.
