This statue of Christopher Columbus is located in the traffic circle at the Coit Tower parking lot on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco, California. Columbus is facing west, gazing at the Golden Gate.

The statue was funded by Italy and City of San Francisco. It is mounted on a six sided pebble-aggregate concrete base surrounded by a planting garden and a ring of fourteen stones. One stone on the ring to the left of Columbus is from the dedication ceremonies and includes a message from Pope Pius XII reading:

PRESENTED TO THE PEOPLE OF SAN FRANCISCO BY THE COLUMBUS MONUMENT COMMITTEE WITH GRATEFUL ACKNOWLEDGMENT TO ALL THE DONORS WHO MADE THIS MEMORIAL POSSIBLE INCLUDING THE CITY OF GENOA FOR THE DONATION OF THE PEDESTAL AND THE MARINI FAMILY FOR THE GIFT OF THE MARBLE RING VITTORIO di COLBERTALDO DESIGNER and SCULPTOR

Heroic figure of Columbus gazing to the Golden Gate, facing west. Holds an open document in proper left hand. Wears a full-length cape down his back. Wears a neck chain with a large cross.

TITLE: Christopher Columbus ARTIST(S): sculptor: Count Vittorio di Colbertaldo DATE: Dedicated Oct. 12, 1957 MEDIUM: Bronze statue on a small base of pebble-aggregate concrete. A stone ring surrounds the sculpture and planting area. Fourteen segments of the stone ring are marble and ten segments are repaired with concretized marble.
