This holocaust memorial was the centre of the news for the last two years as it was defaced by a teen with extensive graffiti. With good fortune he was caught, tried, convicted and sentenced as a result of his crimes.
Each year the Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Day is celebrated at the Calgary Holocaust Memorial at the Calgary Jewish Community Centre.
The depth of the loss suffered by many jews and others during the Second World War can be remembered and contemplated as you visit this memorial.
