This is a carved pathing slab situated next to the River Thames on the South Bank. The quotation is by William Wordsworth.

The quote reads:
"Glide gently, thus for ever glide,
O Thames! that other bards may see
As lovely visions by thy side
As now, fair river! come to me.
O glide, fair stream! for ever so,
Thy quiet soul on all bestowing,
Till all our minds for ever flow
As thy deep waters now are flowing."
This is apt as it is close to the Thames and one of our greatest bards, William Shakespeare, had his plays performed at the nearby Globe theatre.
As can be seen from the photograph the slab is cracked in places.
