Marsden is in a steep sided valley in the Pennine Hills with some magnificent moorland walks on the hills above.
There is much of interest around here, not only the open moorland itself, but also the industrial heritage. Nearby not only is the railway but a canal that opened in 1811. Just west of here is the longest, deepest and highest canal tunnel in Britain.
Up on the moors the Pennine Way also runs to the west of here, so there is quite a variety of scenery and things to do and see.
This map is at a low level horizontal to the ground. It shows a bird’s eye view of Marsden and its surroundings.
