Starting in the lower left the local high school football team The Golden Tornados are honored for being the 15 time state champions. Just above that is a more casual honor to the local railroad and Dorcheat Bayou. In the upper left two fishermen are shown bass fishing in one of the nearby lakes. Center top is the large banner that says Welcome to Haynesville, Gateway to North Louisiana. Moving just to the right of that a white tail deer and two wild turkeys are shown to credit the great hunting the area offers. The upper right hand corner offers a picture of the old Planters Bank and Trust Company. To the far right an oil well pump show the influence the oil and gas industry has on the area. An 18 wheeler load of logs depicts the impact the logging industry has had on the local economy. Just above that is a symbol indicating that Haynesville is in the corridor of the future Interstate 69. Finally bottom center is a mention that Haynesville is the Home of the Butterfly Festival and the largest portion of the mural showing a small girl feeding some of the cattle that are grown here. If you look close a few of those butterflies are in there as well.
