"KMUV-LP is the Telemundo-affiliated low-power television station in the Salinas-Monterey-Santa Cruz market. The station is located in Monterey, California and broadcasts in analog on UHF channel 23. Founded May 31, 1989, KMUV is currently owned by Cowles Publishing Company. KMUV-LP is a sister station to KION-TV, a CBS affiliate. KMUV-LP was previously a Univision affiliate; it is unknown when the station switched affiliations. The KMUV callsign was assigned to a former station from 1974 until 1981, on that which is now KMAX-TV in Sacramento." (
