In Boston, in the area known as Government Center, is the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Federal Building. This building was dedicated to the former President and native of Massachusetts just after President Kennedy was assassinated.

According to the Governement Services Administration (GSA), this building was designed in 1961 by Walter Gropius and The Architects Collaborative, and built between 1963 and 1966. After President Kennedy was assassinated in November, 1963, it was decided that this new federal building would be named after the fallen President. The '...president's mother, Rose Kennedy, and his brothers, Senators Edward and Robert Kennedy, attended the building's dedication on September 9, 1966. At the ceremony, Cardinal Cushing stated that "in this steel and stone we make [President Kennedy's] monument."' The site also states that there are a couple art pieces that were inspired by the President, and many exhibits displayed there often highlight aspects of his life.

Getting inside the building may be a bit of a challenge due to fact that you will likely need to go through security. However, the building is easy to get near since it is in an urban environment.

The building complex is a combination of three structures: two 26-story towers and a long, low 4-story building. The corners are rounded, including the windows. The building has light colored outside walls, with dark annodized aluminum metal-work, on granite columns on the bottom floor.
