This airport was originally Camp Kearns Army Air Field during World War II.
Elevation: 4607 feet
Runway: 16/34 - 5860 feet
At one point in the 1970's a commercial flight landed at this airport instead of Salt Lake International, about seven miles to the north. This was due to inattention on the part of the pilots and the fact that the runways at both airports are in a direct line with each other. The pilots were reportedly baffled that they had to stand on the brakes so hard to keep from running out of runway and then ground control saying that their plane was not in sight at the International airport.
