An inventory benchmark can be found at the Gettysburg Battlefield, to the rear of the 19th Indiana Infantry Monument, a few inches away.

I found this small, round, silver disc in the dirt behind the monument. The disk reads: Forest Monitoring Plot 97 Inventory & Monitoring National Park Service

There are several National Park Service benchmarks scattered around the historic district although this is the first inventory one I have encountered. The benchmark and monument are west of Gettysburg on Meredith Avenue. When traveling southeast on Meredith-Stone Avenue, they are on the right or west side of the road. The monument is actually further off the road than the other monuments, in a kind of clearing.
