This giant Indian Chief sitting Indian style holding a peace pipe is next to the US highway 40 in Roosevelt Utah. This land was once part of the Ute Indian Reservation and was given up to white settlers in the early 1900s. The building behind the Indian statue may have been a trading post at one time but is now home of Lee Nails beauty shop.
The giant Indian is about 15 feet tall in the sitting position with a red robe across one shoulder and the other shoulder bare along with half of his chest. There is a 4 foot chain link fence around the perimeter to help keep him safe.
As you drive through Roosevelt along highway 40 you can't miss seeing this impressive statue.
