Founded by Utah native Henry "Happy Hank" Hilton February 1, 1955. The call letters KSOP designate Salt Lake, Ogden, and Provo, referencing the 3 main cities along Utah's Wasatch Front.
Henry added the FM frequency 1t 104.3 on December 1, 1964, despite criticism from peers that FM was just a "passing fancy".
KSOP is still locally owned and operated today. Classic country at 1370 AM and contemporary country at 104.3 FM.
Henry passed away December 31, 2010. This broadcasting pioneer, father and friend will be missed. Rest in peace, brother.
KSOP studios are located at 1285 West 2320 South, West Valley City, Utah.
