Pat and Thelma Monroe donated 14 acres of land for a park in Fauquier County, Virginia.
Monroe Park in Goldvein includes a playground, playing fields, a pavilion, and the Gold Mine Camp Museum. A plaque mounted on a large boulder in front of the museum reads:

Monroe Park is open daily, dawn to dusk. The Gold Mine Camp Museum is open on Wed. to Fri. 9:30 to 5, Sun. 12 to 4.
