The building has an imposing front with the frieze clearly visible. The centrepiece of the frieze shows a crown over a "Welsh?) dragon. At each side is a cherub. The cherub to the left appears to be holding a mallet in its right hand and possibly undertaking some carving. The cherub to the right looks like a back view of the cherub on the left. The background of the piece looks like leaves and flowers.
The building was originally commissioned in the 18th century and completed in 1905 as a School of Art for the county of Somerset and was designed by Samson And Cottam.
