Back in the machine's heyday, you could feed a penny into whichever of the four coin slots you choose - the machine would allow you to guess the lucky slot. Then it would provide your weight in the upper window and your fortune or character reading in the lower window.
Although I didn't test the machine by inserting a penny, judging by its rusty condition, it probably no longer works. The fortune/character reading now displayed (perhaps permanently) in the lower window is "You live for today and don't take tomorrow seriously."
